I-E-10-b LLEWELLYN SIBERT (1864 – 1940), son of James Neely Sibert4 (Jasper Sibert3, David2, John David1)

Llewellyn Sibert was born on 9 January 1896 in Walcott[?], Arkansas. [1][2][3][4][5][6] He died in a car crash on 17 June 1956, aged 60, in San Augustine, San Augustine County, Texas. [2][3][5][7] Llewellyn of Jonesboro married Wilodean Pickler of Marmaduke, Greene County, Arkansas on 12 September 1920. [1][2][8] Wilodean was the daughter of W.A. Pickler and Emma Garrett. [3] She was born on 8 April 1898. [2] She died with her husband in a car crash on 17 June 1956, aged 58, in San Augustine. [2][3][7] Llewellyn and Wilodean are buried in the Shiloh Cemetery. [2][3]

According to their death certificates, Llewellyn L. and Willodean died instantly from injuries suffered in a car crash on Highway 96 in San Augustine. Llewellyn, the son of J.N. Sibert and Hattie Orledge[!], was a school teacher. He had served in World War I. Willodean, the daughter of W.A. Pickler and Emma Garrett, was a retired school teacher. [3]

According to his 5 January 1917 World War I draft registration card, Llewellyn was a farmer employed by his father. He said he was single but claimed four dependents. He was tall and slender with blue eyes and dark brown hair. [4]

Llewellyn enlisted for World War I on 1 October 1917. He was a private first class. He was discharged on 13 January 1919. [5]

According to the census, on 3 April 1930, Llewellyn, aged 34 and born in Arkansas, and Wilo D., aged eight and born in Tennessee, lived in Big Rock, Sharp County, Arkansas with their children, Victor J., aged eight and born in Mississippi; Wayne L, aged six and born in Arkansas; and Dorothy L., aged two and born in Arkansas. On 2 April 1940, L., aged 44, and Willadean, aged 41, lived in Big Rock with their children, Victor, aged 18; Wayne, aged 16; and Dorothy, aged 12. Llewellyn was a vocational teacher. On 7 April 1950, Llewellyn, aged 54, and Wiladean, aged 51, lived in Pleasant Hill, Newton County, Arkansas. Llewellyn was a vocational teacher and Wiladean was a home economics teacher. [9]

Children of Llewellyn Sibert and Wilodean Pickler:

i. Commander Victor J. Sibert was born on 31 December 1921 in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. [1, 1922][2][10] He died on 10 March 2000, aged 78, in Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana. [2][10][11] He is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery. [2] Victor Jay Sibert of Poughkeepsie, Sharp County, Arkansas married Imogene Lower of Yellville, Marion County, Arkansas on 12 July 1941 in Marion County. [2] Imogene, nicknamed "Jackie," was born on 22 October 1921. [2][12][13] She died on 8 December 1990 in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington. [12][13] She is buried in the Ozark Memorial Park in Branson, Taney County, Missouri. [2] Victor and Imogene divorced on 19 February 1987 in Washoe County, Nevada. [14]

Victor's death certificate says he was the son of Llewellyn and Wilodean (Pickler) Sibert. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy. [10] According to his obituary, he was preceded in death by Jackie and survived by two sons; a sister, Dorothy Reams[!]; and a brother, Wayne Sibert and his wife Georgia Mae. [11]

According to the census, on 3 April 1950, Victor J., aged 28, and Imogene, aged 28, lived in San Diego with their son. Victor was in the armed forces. [9]

The crew of the U.S.S. Agerholm D.D. dedicated their 1963 cruise book (with the photo above) to Commander Victor J. Sibert—"a hunter, a fisherman, and most of all a sailor." [15]

ii. Wayne Leo Sibert was born on 3 September 1923 in Marmaduke. [1, 1924][6] He died on 22 October 2014, aged 91. [2] Wayne Leo Sibert of Norfolk, Baxter County, Arkansas married Georgia Mae Clements of New Edinburg, Cleveland County, Arkansas on 23 September 1943 in Jefferson County, Arkansas. [8] She was born on 4 May 1924. [2] She died on 6 December 2015, aged 91. [2] Wayne and Georgia are buried in the Cypress Memorial Gardens in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County. [2]

Wayne served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. [2]

According to the census, on 10 April 1950, Wayne L., aged 26, and Georgia M., aged 25, lived in Paragould, Greene County, Arkansas with their daughter Betty W., aged five and born in Arkansas. Wayne was the proprietor of a service station. [9]

Children of Wayne Leo Sibert and Georgia Mae Clements:

iii. Dorothy Louise Sibert was born on 14 June 1927 in Magnolia, Columbia County, Arkansas. [1][2][16] She died on 21 August 2017. [2][16] Dorothy Louise Sibert of Deer, Newton County, Arkansas married Reams Walls of Quitman, Cleburne County, Arkansas on 17 December 1948 in Cleburne County. [8] Reams was born on 11 October 1923 and died on 25 October 1990. [2] Dorothy and Reams are buried in the Jonesboro Memorial Parke Cemetery in Jonesboro. [2]

Reams was a solder in the U.S. Army in World War II. [2]

According to the census, on 1 April 1950, Reams, aged 26, and Dorothy, aged 22, lived in Lavaca, Sebastion County, Arkansas. Reams was history and physical education teacher and Dorothy was a home economics teacher. [9]

iv. Charles Donald Sibert was born and died on 18 September 1930. [2] He is buried in the Shiloh Cemetery. [2]
